Los Angeles-based motorcycle accident attorney Bobby Saadian Esq. does his best to stay current on incidents that affect the motorcycle riders of Los Angeles, as well as of instances of report that are relevant to their improved education and awareness of what’s going on around them during their daily rides.
The Whittier Daily News reports recently that a man, age 44, died in a La Mirada motorcycle accident after the man apparently lost control of his motorcycle and struck a tree violently.
The older gentleman was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the 15000 block of Olive Branch Drive in La Mirada when the motorcycle drifted toward the curb. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials say the rider tried to correct his err, but hit the bike’s foot guard, which in turn hit the pavement. The front wheel struck the curb and the rider was thrown off his bike, where he hit a tree. Although he was wearing a helmet, the rider of the motorcycle suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s 2007 traffic accident statistics, there were no fatalities and no injury accidents involving motorcycles in La Mirada. However, in Los Angeles County as a whole, it was a different story.
There were 85 deaths and 2,792 injuries relating to motorcycle accidents in Los Angeles County in 2007. More recent CHP studies also show 96 people died in motorcycle collisions in 2008 in Los Angeles County compared to 58 deaths in 2001. In 2007, 85 people died in motorcycle accidents. In California, the number of people who are taking to riding motorcycles has increased dramatically over the last five years.
About 1.2 million Californians have licenses to drive motorcycles, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles. That is 300,000 more riders than in 2001.
There are many reasons why this Los Angeles County motorcycle accident may have occurred. Officials say speed may have been a factor. In an instance, though it’s unlikely given the American make and model of the motorcycle, it may have very well been a defect with the bike, or some kind of malfunction inherent to the manufacturer’s effort in assembling it.
Was there a mechanical problem or a product defect in the motorcycle? Was there a dangerous condition or debris on the roadway that caused this unfortunate gentleman to lose control of his motorcycle? Though nothing is listed in the report, this could very well be the case. And while we will never have answers to these questions, Mr. Saadian regrets wholly that the family of this man did not contact his firm immediately.
The family would be well-advised to contact an experienced Los Angeles motorcycle lawyer. Bobby Saadian, who has defended multiple motorcycle riders in the face of uncompassionate laws that don’t always favor them. Mr. Saadian is equipped and knowledgeable, and has all resources at his disposal to most effectively investigate all possible factors for this fatal crash, holding the negligent parties responsible as an end result.
Though it’s important that the motorcycle be preserved in its current state and examined for mechanical or product defects and other evidence, this would have been done to every end for the purpose of determining the cause of the crash, had Bobby Saadian been handed this case.
The most effective and thorough representation in times of crisis comes from those who understand, and Mr. Saadian is not just a Los Angeles motorcycle attorney, but a Los Angeles motorcycle rider as well. Visit his website today for more information.
