Los Angeles-based motorcycle accident lawyer Bobby Saadian, in addition to practicing motorcycle law at the expert level, has also been a motorcycle rider himself for nearly a decade.
With as much time as he’s had on two wheels, he’s learned the value of safe riding practices, cautious procedure considering other motorists on the road with their much larger vehicles, and staying sharp and agile en route to his destination.
“Back when I first started riding, this course was considered an essential,” explains Los Angeles motorcycle attorney Mr. Saadian in regards to the Experienced Rider Course (ERC). “However, in taking this course as a refresher every year, what I’ve gotten out of this one day course has probably saved my life on 100 different occasions, and I’ve learned something new every time.”
The Experienced Rider Course (ERC) is designed for motorcyclists with at least 1000 to 2000 miles of riding experience. Subjects such as motorcycle preparation, writer equipment, advanced street riding tactics, management of the motorcycle’s traction when cornering, braking and swerving techniques and other nuanced topics are covered in the course of this one-hour, five and half hour class.
Graduates of this program qualify through their insurance provider for a reduced premium as a result, which should give the rider’s great reason to initially look into this offering. However, the long-term benefit of the lessons that the riders who participate take from this course far outweighs a discount on monthly insurance rates.
Riders who engage in this course discuss with their peers how to balance the mental and physical aspects of safe riding, manage risk in pressure-intense situations, increase visibility of themselves to other motorists and optimize their positioning within a lane on any stretch of road or highway.
Riders are allowed to use their own motorcycle, and are required to use their own protective gear, which is expected by course instructors for its integrity and applicability to the riders safety in the event of a collision. Recommendations are made for new equipment if new equipment is needed, and additional equipment in the event that a rider’s array is considered incomplete.
Group participation is encouraged for the sake of riders sharing information and opinions with one another, in an effort to help develop opinions and perspectives for the sake of more safe and sound riders practice.
The objectives of the Experienced Rider Course are to teach the skills necessary for safe motorcycle operation beyond the threshold of what experienced riders would consider basic. Riders provide their own motorcycle, their own protective gear, a valid motorcycle license and proof of motorcycle insurance in the state of California, or for the state where such documentation is applicable to their ability to legally ride.
Advanced braking, cornering, and swerving techniques are covered, often in situations that test the rider in ways the beginning courses they may have taken did not. Los AngelesMotorcycle Lawyer Bobby Saadian advises that riders in the state of California take these courses yearly, to advance their learning as they advance their riding technique, to ensure proper application and flawless execution in riding practice. This lone step prevents accidents involving motorcyclists perpetually.
The experienced Rider course are available throughout a state of California through a number of institutions, some provided and endorsed by the California State Department of Motor Vehicles, and some provided independently by such institutions as the California Motorcyclist Safety Program.
