THE 2010 CHEVY COBALT
Chevy’s new 2010 Cobalt will make it’s debut in late July or August of 2010. It will be available in a sedan or coupe, both with redirected new contemporary designs. The Colbalt, introduced in 2005 as a replacement for the Cavalier, has been marketed and sold as an economy car with good basic lines, but minimal style in today’s competitive car market. Noticeable changes in the new 2010 Cobalt will make it strong competition for it’s rivals.
Style changes for the new Cobalt will include a slightly chunky profile with a more graceful body, a two-tier grill and a more prominent nose. The updated body style has been compared to the Mazda 3, the BMW, the Ford Focus and the Honda Civic. The rear end with it’s sharp rise resembles the profile of the BMW 5 series with a high waistline and a well hidden trunk. The new car will also see the introduction of a turbocharged 1.4L petrol engine that GM plans to manufacture in the U.S. Variations of this engine, including larger 2.0L and 2.4L units, are expected to show up in several other GM vehicles such as the upcoming Buick Lacrosse and possibly even the new Chevrolet Camaro. The new Chevy Cobalt will be available for sale in Europe as the Nubria and in Asia as the Daewoo Lacetti.
