As economic woe sets in and times become tougher for the working-class family, it’s not uncommon to see more and more families extending a needful hand to those who would charitably offer them assistance in return.
Donate For Charity, a licensed and bonded commercial fundraiser with more than twenty years combined experience in the non-profit and automotive industries, work towards the goal of helping these families to see a brighter day by way of accepting charitable automobile donations from those who no longer have a use for their old and non-working vehicles.
In most cases, Donate for Charity can accept ANY older-model or non-working car, so long as the value of the subject vehicle reasonably offsets the cost of towing it, within margin to make the vehicle donation a beneficial one. Donate For Charity also accepts vehicular donations by way of RV’s, boats, trailers, motorcycles, jet skis, buses and snow mobiles.
The IRS will allow the donating entity to claim a deduction of the value of the donated vehicle up to $500, or the amount the vehicle is sold for if the total sale price exceeds $500. You should check with your accountant or tax advisor to assess this figure per donation, as it applies to your business or personal tax return for the year.
Once the car is picked up and Donate For Charity takes over the donated vehicle, let us go to work in arranging for the sale of the vehicle. We set-up the auction or scrapping of the vehicle, as it applies to the condition of the car upon donation. We will then inform you of any overage of $501 or more, as it pertains to the figure you’ll state when writing off your donation for the year.
When you donate a vehicle and we arrive for pick-up, the paperwork you’re handing refers directly back to the actual sale or intended use of the vehicle, which is determined over the course of the next few days, or several weeks in some cases. Then, Donate for Charity sends those charitable souls who’ve donated their cars a final receipt, detailing the final sale price of the car, or the assessed value for the purpose of writing off the donated automobile as a tax deduction.
In the event that you don’t have the car’s original title, or in the event that the car belonged to a deceased member of the family, Donate for Charity can still help! In most cases, we can still pick up the car if the title is missing, though we will need to consult with the donating party to gain additional information on the vehicle being donated if that is the case.
In the event that the car belongs to the deceased, we can pick the vehicle up if the donating party can prove that they are the inheritor of the deceased’s belongings, and provide official documentation (title, registration) for the subject vehicle.
Donate for Charity has worked with hundreds of families to make their old automobiles work for other families in the course of donation, and we look forward to doing the same for more families through the charity and good will of your donations.
